Evan Davies antibody test

Was negative. He had classic cv symptoms in late January, I did in mid February, both including loss of smell.

He said a caller who had contacted him with the same issue also had a negative antibody test.

So all those (including me!) who had something identical possibly didn't at all.

And that makes me think there is something identical going around, so perhaps all the people who are sure they've had it, haven't!

I suspect I may have. But back in late feb

Tbh, people convinced they had it, without a test. Really can't say wether they had or not.

Truth is, non of us know. I had a covid test today as I still have symptoms (no taste or smell) from back in february. It will be negative, but NHS it was have a test or self isoalte until I get my taste back.

So even after my test I won't know. I will have to wait for an antibody test

There's a reddit group called www.reddit.com/r/COVID19positive/

I counted at least 10 posters in the past week who said they'd tested positive for Covid via swab, and now, a month or two later, they had tested negative for antibodies.

Interesting!

I thought I read that standard colds & influenza also often lead to loss of smell/taste. It's not a symptom specific to covid19 at all.

Yes - people seem to have forgotten just how many viruses are circulating in any given winter and a lot of them share symptoms of coronavirus. There were loads of Mumsnetters posting on here back in February, "I have a runny nose and a sore throat - do I have coronavirus?" No, you have a cold!
