Do I need help

Since the corona virus pandemic I seem to be freaking out over cleanliness I insist everything that comes in to the house is wiped down with a wipe and spray. I leave parcels 72 hours where possible. I freak out if somebody brings something in and doesn’t wipe it down. I’m constantly feeling like I can’t breathe I’m guessing this is anxiety causing this. Do I need to consult a doctor? My family say I need help but is this not normal giving the given situation or am I being unreasonable?

No it's not normal. I've not been doing any of that, I don't even think about it. You do sound like you have anxiety and would benefit from speaking to a GP.

Are you vulnerable/shielding?

What ever makes you feel comfortable.

Lynda07 · 19/05/2020 12:36

You are definitely overdoing it.

It is an understandable reaction to the current situation, but yes it does sound like anxiety, and it would be a good idea to seek help if you carry on feeling like this

No I’m not shielding I just feel very anxious about the situation I’m terrified of it 😔 I just don’t know how I would explain this to a doctor and what they can do to help? 😔 a woman coughed in the queue behind me last week and although I know this could be many things I literally came home and cried 😔
