Baby shopping

Would you take a baby shopping if you didn't have to? Just to get her out the house so she can see something other than our 4 walls?

My DH is home so she doesn't need to come with me, would I be super anxious if I took her?

take her for a walk rather than to the shops

Sleepyquest · 19/05/2020 10:46

I do take her for a walk at least once a day so maybe that's enough for her?

I thought supermarkets were still encouraging only one person? Personally I wouldn’t risk it, I think she’d prefer to see trees and wildlife in your local park. (I know my two did when they were babies)

Bumble84 · 19/05/2020 11:17

I wouldn’t risk it tbh, only if it was unavoidable. No harm in all of you going in the car and one of you sitting in the car people watching with DC maybe if it’s a change of scenery you want?

mynameiscalypso · 19/05/2020 11:20

Most shops around me don't like letting babies in especially in a pram. They're a bit more relaxed if they're in a carrier/sling but it's still hit and miss. I don't bother.

mylittleavalon · 19/05/2020 11:23

The other day we went to Aldi and I sat in the car park and held DD up to the window (10 months). We haven't been out of our little country bubble for two months and this was the highlight of her week!! She loved people watching from the window as she hasn't seen any for two months. I wouldn't have taken her into the shops though.

mylittleavalon · 19/05/2020 11:23

*sat in the car in the carpark

IncrediblySadToo · 19/05/2020 11:26

Nope. Your walks are good and if you have a car, maybe some people watching as others have said, but there's no way id be taking her indoors anywhere I didn't absolutely have to!

mynameiscalypso · 19/05/2020 11:27

Just to add, I don't really see any great risks about taking a baby into a shop. The person who is most likely to give anything to him is me and he's stuck inside with me 99% of the time.

MabelMoo23 · 19/05/2020 11:36

No I wouldn't, unless I had no choice (which is very different) not when you can go for walks.

Floatyboat · 19/05/2020 11:48

Baby in the sling is a nice idea. Taking a buggy to shops will get in people's way and make distancing hard.

Sleepyquest · 19/05/2020 12:19

I'll leave her at home! Thanks

Just took mine in a sling. Definitely enjoyed it. Good idea op.
