Gas safety check worried

I have to have it done but I am really worried. Yes we can go in the garden while it's done and can clean when they've gone but the aerosols from breathing, talking, coughing and sneezing hang in the air for three hours according to scientists.

We are high risk vulnerable.

Help please

My Dad didn't let them in. He is shielding though.

Will they maybe be wearing a mask? It's not just going to hang about in a cloud waiting for you and mainly falls to the ground quickly. Keep the windows open too as that helps disperse anything in the air

Agree with having windows open. Does the person doing the check have to enter every room of the house, or could you retreat to another room of the house and wait there for several hours before re-emerging?

Some things just have to be done....try not to worry. Most professional workmen are safety conscious at the moment. My parents are shielding....in their 80s and extremely vulnerable. Their boiler was leaking so they had to have it mended. They stayed in garden. He wore a mask, only touched what he had to and sprayed down himself where he'd been. Mum did a back up spray with dettol after he'd gone. This was 3 weeks ago....they are fine. She certainly didn't wash every surface or floor covering. Just keep up with the regular hand washing. Don't forget for most areas of the country R is below one and infections are slowing.
