Finding the hypocrisy the most annoying thing here...

I live next door to a reality TV star, who also has a relatively well known (in D-list celeb circles) partner.

Last night, they had a dozen people or so around for a party. I know most people will disagree, but I don’t find the party in and of itself that objectionable (and the nature of where I live means that once they went inside at 8ish, I couldn’t hear anything - and even before then it wasn’t loud). What I find infuriating is the fact that over the last few weeks they’ve both been using their not-insubstantial social media platform for #StayHome #StayHomeStaySafe etc etc, and they film themselves every single week without fail clapping for the NHS and posting on Instagram stories.

If I was so inclined I would have taken pics for the Daily Mail. But instead I am quietly fuming at the hypocrisy and venting on MN instead.

In this instance I’d rather they were a hypocrite if it means some of their followers are encouraged to keep up measures.

My problem is I don't watch enough reality TV so would probably be 'who?' . Especially if it's the Love Island/Towie/MIC type stuff.

OP I totally understand the frustration! I don't live next door to any celebs (council estate!) but there's so many of my neighbours banging on about "keeping my babies safe at home" and "we haven't left the house in 4 weeks". It's BULLSHIT, they're out on the street partying every fucking weekend with the rest of the neighbours and their kids as well as banging pan lids for the NHS every Thursday.

Lots of this hypocrisy about, FB posts #staysafe #allinthistogether #protectthenhs yet they have friends and family over for parties and BBQs every weekend. Also neighbours stealth boasting about amazing homeschooling, baking and craft with their DC but all I can hear is arguments and kids crying.
