Symptoms but shielding!

I have developed some of the COVID symptoms over the last few days (temperature, sore throat, body aches and fatigue). I am part of the shielding group and my family and I haven’t left the house for nearly 9 weeks. OH has a sore throat and a headache. DS very lethargic. We’ve washed all shopping etc
I know I am asking the impossible, but am freaking out slightly, surely it is highly unlikely we’ve caught COVID isn’t it?

Hayfever?

Also its really easy to get a test now. Just log on and say you are a keyworker and you can find out ASAP

Possibly? OH suffers, I did when younger and have other allergies. Maybe I’m just being super sensitive. I’m so aware of how badly this could effect me. Thanks for the reply :-)

If you’re shielding the advice is to phone up and get tested straight away.

Have you been out for walks/getting shopping delivered? Is your DH going out? Have you been to a petrol station etc?

CherryStoneTree · 15/05/2020 17:30

@Ontheblackhill actually if you’re shielded that’s bad advice, the advice is to phone 111 straight away and say you have symptoms and are shielded, that will get you the right medical help not just a test assuming you are a well key worker.

SleepymummyZzz · 15/05/2020 17:30

I will order a test I think. We literally haven’t left for shopping/walks etc. OH has washed and tinkered with the car on the driveway but that’s as far as he has been.

I’d still phone up for advice, you are shielded for a reason and it says to phone at any sign, even if you don’t think you he been exposed. Your test will be more of a priority than someone in the general public over 60 etc, unfair to some but there for a reason.

Just seen this thread. I'm in the shielded group and have (prob - according to GP) had COVID.

At no point was I offered a test.
