Delivery man asking for signature!

I had a parcel delivered yesterday from the worlds most grumpy delivery driver. He tutted and rolled his eyes at me because I said I could not use his machine to sign for the parcel!
Since Lockdown all the delivery drivers and post man just leave items on the step and ring the bell, some take a photo of item on step to prove delivered.
I was shocked he even asked, well shoved the hand held machine thing at me but more shocked that he was so rude when I politely declined!

This is odd behaviour isn’t it?

Floaty I can assure you I am not a ‘a vexatious complainer’! This is a chat forum and I think that you can post about any topic you fancy. How strange you are.

Ok no worries, glad to hear it. That was just my suggestion based on the limited info.

We are shielding so when a delivery turned up I opened the window slightly and asked the driver to leave it on the doorstep. He said he needed a photo of ME with the item, to which (whist holding my 10 week old screaming in my arms) I said I couldn’t. He then said “OK then no problem, I’ll take it back” shoved the parcel back in his van and drove off. I couldn’t believe it. When I called head office they said I should put a note on the door so that the driver can take a photo of that next time.

I've had quite a few Hermes as asda decided to send my order in about 6 different parcels and they've knocked and stood back , or on one occasion we obviously didn't hear them and they put note through sir and basically threw the parcel in the lavender Bush at the front ( not secure )
