Does anyone else feel mentally drained today? I was really hoping for a clear message from the government last night. Instead again it has raised so many more questions than answered. Ive been keeping positive for my 3 children, homeschooling the 2 primary school age one with a 2yr toddler running around. Just feel abit down today, everything is just relentless, constant little stresses all adding up. Homeschooling, finances, keeping everyone happy. Sorry im rambling abit think im just having a bad day.

You need to do whatever you can to get through, your children won’t suffer if you forget schooling today, tomorrow or the next day. Let the older ones watch a film, have a coffee play with the toddler. Don’t feel guilty and don’t put too much pressure on yourself.Flowers

I hear you. I'm getting nothing done while hanging around on MN in the hope of details of this 50 page document and some clarity appearing in the fog. A lot of plans to try and put together and at the moment pretty much nothing to base them on, and yes, I agree it's very anxiety inducing.

You're doing a grand job, Chilli and are bound to feel down sometimes. I certainly would in your position. It would be marvellous if our government gave us some clear instructions but they are as clueless as we are! I expect we'll muddle through somehow.

I’m exactly the same
2 school age and a toddler

Given up on schooling as far too difficult with toddler who try’s to grab / climb / launch other kids paper etc

It’s not nice or pleasant at all

Kids are bored

I can’t believe schools in Scotland are not back until end of August possibly later
It’s really really difficult to get through the days right now

I find myself getting v envious of people who have their partners home to help them
I’m not usually a jealous person usually very happy content but it’s really eating me up that I’ve done 8 weeks alone of this and possible have another 18 to go ( may / June / July / August )

It’s mentally draining me

We go out daily - walks / bike rides etc but DP works full time and every single mental load is on me of how to cook / clean / entertain kids

It’s utterly draining , and as I say I’m usually very happy / content with simple life

It’s just the fact of never getting a minute !( DP is v good , takes work clothes off when he gets in and potters about with kids outdoors etc ) but it’s just not the same as them being at school / nursery and having a minutes peace

God that’s a bit of a rant isn’t it

I know what you mean. DD (5) will only do formal learning for about ten minutes at a time. I’ve been letting her play with her toys a lot but you can bet if I get out an activity for me to do eg sewing she will bimble in and try to “join in”

And not being on social media seeing how others are “living their best lockdown life” helps as does 🍷🍷

Definitely not the only one feeling this way, I've found the last week very hard, my daughter is climbing the walls we live in a small flat with no garden. We miss our routine of me working and her going to school it's horrible and if I hear "we're all in it together" once more I'll scream !!! We're all in the same storm but some have bigger boats than others !

Thankyou so much for all your comments lovely people. I decided to take some of your advice and we've had a very relaxed no routine lots of screentime sort of day and i feel so much better for it and i refuse to feel guilty for it. Smile i actually feel recharged.
