3 Tier School System?

Willyoujustbequiet · 10/05/2020 21:02

We have a 3 tier system in my county. First (reception to yr4) Middle (5 to 8) High (9 onwards)

That would mean a school reopened for one year only (6) under the plans.

Year 5 is primary in other areas but not here. So September for them? Doesnt make much sense

Any thoughts?

Same here op. I have a dc In year 4, I'm hoping she will get to go back to school to say goodbye to first school

CupCupGoose · 10/05/2020 21:04

I think they will let years 4 and 7 go back in 3 tier areas.

CupCupGoose · 10/05/2020 21:04

8 not 7!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 10/05/2020 21:05

Quite clear whatever your system-yrs R/1/6

Boris talked about a staggered return for primary so I'd anticipate that year 6s will also return at some point before September.

We have middle school system too so not sure if there will be any opportunity for my year 8 to have any transition activity before he starts his new school in September. I assume not, as he's officially classes as 'secondary'.

We live in a 3 tier area as well - I think it won’t be yr6 here, that would make no sense as it’s not a transition year.

mum2jakie · 10/05/2020 21:07

I meant year 5 as well as year 6

Willyoujustbequiet · 10/05/2020 21:09

I agree Daisy and mum. Yr 6 makes no sense as no transition.

Year 8 I could understand as that's a big jump.
