Hi all, I'm in a predicament regarding childcare over the half term.

I'm a key worker and my daughter has been going to school through the pandemic, however with half term coming up the school won't be operating as normal and will instead be running their holiday club which I would have to pay for if my daughter were to attend. If I have to pay then I actually run at a loss as my pay for the day does not cover the cost of the club for the day, my work will also not allow me to take time off due to heavy workload.

A friend of mine is a qualified but not practicing childminder, do you think it would be ok to send my daughter to my friend for these few days under the governments current guidelines.

Thank you.

What do you normally do for childcare in the holidays?

I don't think going to your friends for childcare is following the guidelines, but if she has been in school anyway throughout this I don't think it will do any harm. Is your friend ok with it? She would be most at risk I would of thought.
