If primary schools go back on June 1st....

Our nursery (early years 3+) released a statement saying they have received guidance about reopening. No details. But obviously they have had some information about how they can reopen. It's ludicrous to suggest that people should return to work but not support their childcare but how they will do this safely I have no idea.

What does Early Years apply to? Is it all private nurseries too or just pre-school

Tanith · 11/05/2020 20:32

Early Years applies to nurseries, pre-schools, childminders, nannies and Reception - 0-5 year olds.

Thanks Tanith

My nursery is opening in June .. all being well -

Yes, it's in the DfE guidance that came out this evening.

If parents aren't allowed on nursery premises for setting in, I won't be able to send my daughter to nursery and will probably have to quit my job ☹️ She is a tiny human, not an animal, to just leave her with strangers is unthinkable.

Government guidance indicates that nurseries should begin welcoming children back on June 1st.... While primary schools are welcoming them. Different wording. I think they might prioritise some groups of children over the others as well. Impossible to have everyone balc at the same time...

"nurseries and other early year providers, including childminders, to begin welcoming back all children

primary schools to welcome back children in nursery (where they have them), reception, year 1 and year 6"

The guidance released today spoke of getting childminders back working. It suggested ways they could stay safe as including opening a window.

@TotorosFurryBehind has that been said somewhere explicitly? I have read through the information for parents/carers and the detailed info for schools and can’t see it although I appreciate it may be implied. There seemed to be a carve out for parents going onto the premises for prearranged appointments which would seem to cover settling in sessions.
