Bye red, hello green.

Stay alert > control the virus > save lives

I’m interested to know how we stay alert to an invisible virus, not exactly clear really. Lots of interpretations there!

I think replacing "stay home" with "stay alert" is odd, if it is true that there won't be any changes to the lockdown (except perhaps some minor ones). How can he say we're still in lockdown but we've removed the stay home message? The change, to me, signals there should be a change in policy, we're entering a new phase etc, but if not I think they should have waited and had a new slogan when they actually make substantial changes as otherwise it's kind of a mixed message.

They take away the stay at home, a lot of people will take it as a green light to go out and do as they wish. Even if there are still restrictions, the removing of that wording is all it will take.

It is all very subliminal isn’t it? I am not looking forward to hearing again and again.

When can we see family? I do not see any mention of this but we can go out to the shops?

Itisasecret · 10/05/2020 10:18

I think what they want is things to stay much the same but workplaces which should never have closed to re open. The stay at home message means places which could stay open, didn’t. So still lockdown and still wanting to reduce household to household transmissions.

Robert Generic (not his surname, but sounds like it) just fucked up on Andrew Marr. Matt questioned the fact that "stay home" has been removed and he stumbled "no, no, no, we want people to stay alert whilst carrying out essentials but stay at home as normal"

Why remove it then you total bunch of utter tosspots??

Connie222 · 10/05/2020 10:33

Clear as mud then.

BilboBercow · 10/05/2020 10:47

They think we're chimps

Itisasecret · 10/05/2020 11:16

I should clarify this is for England, Scotland and Wales have come out against this on Twitter, saying no discussion was had and they do not agree with it.

the government has to reach people with much more limited intellect.

As we all know from the news last week, assumed intelligence does not always mean the person has any common sense.

Goatymcgoaty · 10/05/2020 12:02

So basically:

Go out

Catch the virus

Become immune

Save the economy

Sorry Granny

Actually the average IQ is 100. That’s the way the modern tests are designed.
