Could my mum move in with us?

If my mum came and lived with us in our home, would that be breaking lockdown rules?

No.

FuckYouVirus · 09/05/2020 21:05

Yes, however I'd be asking myself a few questions before making that decision.

dementedpixie · 09/05/2020 21:06

Yes she could come if she was going to stay for the duration of the rest of lockdown.

Methtones · 09/05/2020 21:14

*no you are not breaking lockdown

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 09/05/2020 21:16

Yes, she can come and live with you for the rest of lockdown or permanently. It isn't breaking any rules.

Ilets · 09/05/2020 21:19

Yes that's fine

RhymingRabbit3 · 09/05/2020 21:20

Your post is a bit confusing in the way it is worded but yes your mum can move in, no you will not be breaking the rules.

hermionegrange · 09/05/2020 21:21

@FuckYouVirus What questions?

OP posts:
Hugglespuffed · 09/05/2020 21:23

I thought we couldn't move in with relatives in the middle of lockdown?

KitKatKit · 09/05/2020 21:23

You would not be breaking rules by merging households. Might be sensible to have her and your household isolate for at least a week before she comes though to ensure nobody has symptoms.

AppearingNormal · 09/05/2020 21:33

It is going against ' the rules '. Unless she is escaping an unsafe situation.

dementedpixie · 09/05/2020 21:35

Maybe its unsafe for her mental health. As long as she isnt going to and fro then its fine

FuckYouVirus · 10/05/2020 00:22

I'd be asking..

Is it safe ?
Whats the likelihood of either house having corona?
What are the consequences of not moving in with each other? Does that risk out weight the the risk of corona ?

Make a well informed risk assessment and do what is right for your family.

savehalloween · 10/05/2020 00:29

It isn't against the rules.

excitedmumtobe87 · 10/05/2020 02:43

Yes. It’s allowed to change your place of residence so long as you then stay there rather than going back and forth.

excitedmumtobe87 · 10/05/2020 02:44

Although if there’s any chance any of you could have it obviously enforce isolation rules it within the house for 14 days. I’m guessing you know that though.
