Where is Boris?

Why isn't Boris addressing the country daily? Every day he sends one of his minions.

I get he was ill. But he's back to work now.

It's terrible leadership at a time the country needs him most.

Paternity leave?

palacegirl77 · 09/05/2020 16:19

Hes not up to the job. He cannot do speeches without a gang of supporters behind him, saw that in Commons on Weds. Its why he ducked channel 4 debate, and interview with Andrew Neil. He is not up to the job. End of.

Snowman123 · 09/05/2020 16:20

I don't think the PM should be taking any kind of leave in the midst of the biggest crisis this country has seen in decades.

I agree, but he took sick leave, he is now probably taking Paternity leave and I guess next is Annual Leave for a break Wink

user200000000 · 09/05/2020 16:22

He likes to give 'positive' news. So tomorrows slight easing of lockdown speech will make us all think he's done well. Hmm

Futurenostalgia · 09/05/2020 16:22

He’s doing an announcement tomorrow.

ConcernedAuntie · 09/05/2020 16:23

I expect he is at work listening to his many advisers so that the cabinet can decide what to do next. I doubt he is playing Candycrush on his phone. If you want to volunteer to take all the decisions for the country on his behalf please contact 10 Downing Street.

MarieQueenofScots · 09/05/2020 16:24

He’s a poor public speaker so makes use of other members of the cabinet.

He’s doing an address on Sunday which I would imagine will be a bumbling diatribe as usual!

Snowman123 · 09/05/2020 16:25

Yes the huge hype over tomorrow's speech.

He's not the bloody queen. He should be facing the nation daily.

I agree that he's just not up to it.

Hopefully he's scrolling through mumsnet and taking on board what all the armchair experts are saying! Hmm

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/3903483-Where-is-Boris

Everyone is looking for him. Plus I have just read on another thread you can’t call him ‘Boris’ as he isn’t your friend. Grin

ginsparkles · 09/05/2020 16:28

He has stated he isn't taking paternity leave. Aren't they sending the appropriate minister to speak on each issue? So today is about transport so the transport minister is speaking, tomorrow is a complete plan for the way forward so Boris is taking the lead.

user200000000 · 09/05/2020 16:28

What about calling him Bozza? too matey?

concernedforthefuture · 09/05/2020 16:28

To be fair - it's barely a month since he nearly died (and his partner has very recently given birth). As someone was able to step in for him when needed in his absence previously, he's probably happy for that to continue so he can do other, more important work in that time without burning himself out by working all hours of the day. He's probably still not 100%.

Nat6999 · 09/05/2020 16:29

Doris is hiding in a fridge somewhere.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2020 16:30

Who is Doris?

Snowman123 · 09/05/2020 16:30

Scottish FM seems to fit in speaking with a host of advisors and addressing the nation daily. Without fail. In clear language.

She probably fits in a couple of games of candy crush too.

I'm pretty sure he'd be ok with us calling him Boris.

TJH130 · 09/05/2020 16:31

He doesn’t need to do these unless it’s a special one surely? Each day seems to have a theme, therefore doesn’t it make sense that the relevant minister for that department lead?

palacegirl77 · 09/05/2020 16:32

Can you tell me how he "nearly died" when he wasnt even put on a ventilator? It was reported that he was moved into intensive care to be nearer the treatment IF needed, it wasnt. Im not saying he wasnt ill, but he didnt nearly die! If he is ill, he should be passing over management if this to someone that is fit.

Snowman123 · 09/05/2020 16:33

Tdh130

I think he should be facing the country daily and taking that specific advisor with him to meet the theme.

That's what a proper leader would do.

SquishySquirmy · 09/05/2020 16:33

Ooooo don't be mean, #bekind, Our Glorious Leader has a difficult job, don't criticise without volunteering to step in and PM yourself,.... Blah blah blah.

(Just getting that in first before others get there. 😉)

He has always been like this. He has a near-spotless track record of shirking responsibility and accountability. As a pp says, he likes to be the good news guy so will be the one to announce an easing of lockdown restrictions. Big speeches are his thing, but "boring" updates, gloomy stats and details really aren't.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2020 16:33

I don’t have his medical notes to hand so anything in that department is purely speculation.

SleepingStandingUp · 09/05/2020 16:35

I agree, but he took sick leave I know, so lazy. Surely he could have just had a camera rugged up to his godforsaken bed so he could address the nation throughout. Can't believe how much time he spent just lying about lazily.

They're sending out the themed keratin aren't they? I think he should do the Threat ones after Cobra and one other a week, but beyond that I'd rather he was in his office working not answering inane questions from the public

SleepingStandingUp · 09/05/2020 16:36

Person. Not keratin.

palacegirl77 · 09/05/2020 16:37

Does he go to COBR now then? He didnt deem them necessary at the start of this epidemic?
