I'm sorry if this has been asked.
I haven't looked though all threads.
Meeting up with friends in small groups?
Seeing family ?
Small shops opening ?
What will it be ?

This has been asked sooo many times but the truth is nobody knows. We can all guess but we will have to wait and see.

NuffSaidSam · 09/05/2020 15:59

Just wait until Sunday when the only person who can actually answer your question will do so.

Despite being a new parent Boris is almost certainly not on Mumsnet.

From the news websites, it’ll probably be garden centres opening next week, 14 day quarantine for people coming from overseas (from June 1st), and some libraries and recycling centres opening. I really want to just see a couple of people.

Butterymuffin · 09/05/2020 16:09

I've read that garden centres will be allowed to open from Wednesday (in England - think Wales for one is a bit different). A lot of local recycling centres have already reopened but think queues are still long at the moment so I'm not going yet.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2020 16:10

I can’t get excited by Garden Centres reopening unless you can get tea and cake there which won’t be happening.

Ha! Bet she is though!

Little or no change - another extension of the lockdown

heylittlehenwhenwhenwhen · 09/05/2020 16:19

When President Macron gave his speech outlining the plans for lockdown it was very clear and comprehensive. It was very specific about what targets would need to be met.......and it was on April 13th.

The actual easing of the restrictions doesn't start until this Monday.

Don't hold your breath!

B&Q is already open, and b&m so people have been getting garden supplies from there all weekend. I imagine more non essential shops will open with social distancing. I suppose it does figure, if I can buy a spanner why can't I buy a pair of shoes? Plus the government are paying a lot of money out and no one is able to spend it so I'd imagine BJ wants to get that sorted pretty quickly.

I'd hope that small groups, outside, 2m apart will be allowed. I miss my mum so much this week. Especially after yesterday when apparently it was ok to sit with your neighbours 2m apart for several hours. I don't want to see others, just them. Just briefly if necessary. I am crossing everything that this is allowed soon

According to my SIL, covid goes “poooof” first thing Monday morning.

She’s been texting Dh all week with plans for next weekend, would Dd like to come for a sleepover, let’s surprise nan with Sunday lunch out.

She’s not the brightest star in the sky at the best of times.
