Not been out of house for a week but DD has headache and fever

I don't understand how she could have caught anything. She has a 37.8C fever and bad headache. The rest of us are fine. None of us have been to work or out anywhere other than a walk. DD didn't even come in the walk as she hates walking! We didn't come within 2 metres of anyone and didn't touch anything. We have our shopping delivered and she wouldn't have touched any of the food bags or packets. Confused and a bit worried...

Sounds like too much sun. Get her to sip water throughout the day. Give her some Calpol for the headache.

KingaRoo · 09/05/2020 16:14

She's 12. Not been out in the sun much at all, has been inside all day today on the sofa. Temp now 38.2.

Coronavirus is up to 14 day incubation period so it’s possible she could have touched something in that time.

BenScalesIsAGod · 09/05/2020 17:01

Hope she’s better soon x

Moonshinemisses · 09/05/2020 17:05

Could be hormonal given her age? Along with a headache i always get 'flu' like symptoms before my period. Paracetamol & lots of fluids might help

TheGreatWave · 09/05/2020 17:11

Cutting some of her back teeth maybe?

Hope she feels better soon.

KingaRoo · 09/05/2020 20:31

Thanks all. Temp went up to 38.7 but she managed a bit of dinner and is asleep now.

Don’t be afraid to get her checked out if you’re worried. I doubt it will be hormonal or teeth related.

buenavistabelle · 17/05/2020 21:41

@KingaRoo How us she now? My son is the exact same today - been nowhere, touched nothing and now has headache and high temp....

chickedeee · 17/05/2020 21:53

My 15 yr old had something similar ten days ago- felt really tired with a headache and high temp and vomited. She was terrified it was coronavirus Sad

Came down with cold like symptoms the next day. Has had 'coved toe' symptoms since Easter holidays 🤷‍♀️

I had awful headache and vomited around 16th April my daughter was ill around 4th May 🤷‍♂️

I have no idea where we got it of what is was

Watch her temp and if no better within 24hrs or you think it is something more serious call GP.

chickedeee · 17/05/2020 21:54

Doubt it is teeth or period related in the case of your DD Wink

Lougle · 17/05/2020 22:02

All of your family need to self- isolate for 14 days now. Are you key workers? If you are, you can get your DD a test.

As other posters have said, keep an eye out for usual childhood illness symptoms, too, and get help early if she seems seriously unwell, whatever the cause.

I hope she feels better soon.
