If there was to be another lock down, how would you prepare?

Now we've been through one, if there were going to be others, what would you do differently?

I'm going to make sure I have paint and compost in stock as it were. And printer ink.

Make sure I have my pantry and freezer are well stocked up, so we don't have to go to the supermarket. Including loll roll ,

If we haven't done it, make sure we have the new bedroom furniture that my DD2 has been waiting for, for the last 2 years. We were going to order it just as Ikea stopped doing deliveries. Along with the paint and wallpaper. So we can decorate her bedroom.

Hopefully (if it happens) it will be after DS goes high school and I won't have to worry so much about school work. As his primary has been really bad with school work. Only yesterday did they E mail about providing paper versions any school work, as they after 6 weeks realised that not everyone has a computer to be able to do any school work.

Oh and possible get my mum to move in with us as she is alone and has been finding being alone hard. She is so used to seeing me and my dc most days. And luckily she is easy to live with and my DH wouldn't mind.

We had a pretty well-stocked pantry (thanks, brexit prepping threads), but the lockdown has been an eye-opener to just how much coffee we need to drag ourselves through the day! We don't even seem to care about the food that much, as long as there's some, but I'd stock up on coffee and baking supplies (assuming some appeared in shops before the next lockdown).

Other than that, I don't know what to do differently. I guess we could invest in some better quality technology, if it was to go on for a long while, but I'm not that bothered.

Buy more pens for work - I've gone through loads!

Clear out the shed and dump stuff beforehand. It's been annoying us for a long while and we had planned to do it over Easter but dumps were closed.

Get all off-season clothes back home from storage unit, it's been interesting moving from winter to summer wear with what was in the house.

Buy more paint to continue doing up the house at weekends. We had bought paint for DD's room (promised for 2 years), and had enough for the bathroom ceiling and radiator, and outdoor woodwork but need to get masonry paint for outside and white paint for indoors.

Try and save some money. My job is at risk. I don't have much spare cash to save though.

Save money.

Make sure my teeth are up to scratch, toilet roll and get my roots done regularly.

Get more contact lenses and solution from my optician. Stock up on craft paper for the children (although I have just ordered a massive bundle online). Painting equipment & paint so we can make the home office a bit nicer and also the back hallway.

Not much different really, I was pretty well stocked for this lockdown. I'm mindful not to let anything run out though, in case it isn't easily replaceable.

Second internet line, I might invest in one anyway.

I'd make sure we had loads of gardening stuff.

Hair dye.

Moisturisers.

Booze.

Get poor DD4 and my teeth sorted out before all this kicks off.
Sewing machine fabric.
Oat milk for DD1.
Buy soda steam canisters and more crackers, breadsticks for the DC.
Rewind the clock and not have 8 children! (Adults now but still stressful in lockdown!)
See my friends while we can.

Gone on a 3 week beach holiday

New glasses!

Hair colour - will beg my hairdresser to show my exactly how to put it on and what to use.

Extra freezer.

Things to do at home if it's autumn/winter - jigsaws, books, crafts.

Get in food for Christmas and freeze it.

Food delivery slots.

Regular order for fresh flowers - I always have flowers in the house, except for the last 7 weeks. Treated myself to a bouquet this week and it makes such a difference!

Coal and firelighters - have already got our log supply in!

I would restock my freezer. I've managed to get through all the freezer food and only did my first supermarket shop last week. Stock up on uht milk for dh as he is happy to drink that and it would have saved me a few trips to the corner shop.
I need to repaint my hallway and front room so paint etc
I would also get a few new puzzles, I've done 6 1000 piece puzzles so far.
Christmas food and craft activities in case we are in lock down over the winter.

Apart from maybe getting a treadmill, nothing really. This is, however, in the context of my dad dying the first day of lockdown, my mum having to move into care, terminally ill MIL having to have emergency treatment, and my mum dying. We've managed to deal with all of that, and keep the PIL fed and supplied with medication from 45 miles away, so I feel pretty confident that we could deal with things again

Compost.

No idea why it is so difficult to get when you can get pretty much anything else delivered.

Stock up on catfood. I can be creative in my meals, but the cats don't appreciate it.

Build a tunnel between ours and IL’s house to funnel the toddler back and forth for childcare (ok, the tunnel would have to reach from one end of the village to another, but one can dream)

Have ikea stopped doing deliveries?

I need a wardrobe and they are not doing a 2 man deliveries, so I couldn't get it delivered.

Oh, thanks @Clutterbugsmum, we would have similar issue as in an upper floor flat.

You can get compost delivered, as long as you want a tonne.

I shall have paint bought so I can do some decorating. And a new laptop.

But DH is KingPrepper so we had food, plus the butcher does order for collection, and we joined the local food hub for fresh veg and fish, which we pick up from the station car park.
