I'm always puzzled why the briefings don't include a 'deaths per million people' figure when comparing countries.

So I finally got around to checking. Here's the latest day's figures: ourworldindata.org/grapher/new-covid-deaths-per-million?tab=chart&year=2020-05-06&time=latest&country=BEL+FRA+DEU+ITA+NLD+POL+PRT+ESP+SWE+CHE+GBR+USA+OWID_WRL

Here's the total announced deaths, per million of population: ourworldindata.org/grapher/total-covid-deaths-per-million?tab=chart&year=2020-05-06&country=OWID_WRL+USA+GBR+DEU+FRA+ITA+NLD+ESP+SWE+BEL+CHE+PRT+POL

The deaths per million per country has been on worldometer right from the start. We still dont know how other countries have been counting though, have they included deaths in homes, or in hospitals?
