Nursery ppe

So my friend works in a nursery they have been closed since lockdown. When they reopen the general opinion is that staff will not be wearing ppe (other than for nappies/food prep etc). My friend is worried sick about this she gets that the children are supposed to be low risk but thinks the staff should be protected. Wwyd?

Not a chance will nursery use PPE, nor will they socially distance, they simply can't. Your friend needs to realise that the risk to her is minimal but if she feels it's too much for her its probably best she looks for a new job.

Social distancing will not work in nurseries.

Much PPE will not work. Some of the babies get upset if I put a hat on let alone a face mask.

When we open we'll just have to go for it the same as before, but with a lot more cleaning.

Wwyd?

Whatever I wanted.

They're not going to sack her for wearing PPE.

Work in a nursery as well and cant see this happening. Especially masks. Children haven't seen us since end of March they wont recognise us from our eyes. That and many would be scared.
Just case see how its opened. On a busy day we have 80 children so depends if open to all at once..or slowly..then again some parents probably keep them off.

Just be a case of more cleaning and a lot of hand washing.

I agree with pp above.
I too work in Early Years and i definitely dont want to wear PPE. Children rely on facial expressions.
We of course wear the correct ppe when deàling with accidents/nappies etc.
