Moving house during Corona, advice please!

We currently live and rent in a village I hate, in a house that is falling to bits. We had wanted to move house in the summer (end of July) and move DC's to new schools for September (none of them are happy here either and we've only been here a year) but I have no idea how this is going to be possible and/or safe to do.

I'm not shielding but I am overweight and have Lymphedema and not sure I'd like to risk getting the virus and my 4YO hasn't got a very good immune system so we're staying in most of the time and playing in the garden and hoping and praying none of us get ill.

I also don't know what I would do about schools if they aren't even open until September? Will we even be allowed to move house? And what about viewings/travelling back and forth (we have no car).

Would it just be safer to stay put until next year? I'd hate to do it because I am suffering so badly from depression and was really relying on moving away to get me through this but would if it was the safest option for the DC's.

Just need some advice/thoughts really!

Practically speaking - you can move. We did in 2nd week of lockdown. It was into a house we had already bought - but it was previously tenanted and they moved out 2 days before into another rental so it’s def possible for rented too. Removal company was still operating, they wore masks and we left the flat when they were packing up. It was stressful but do able! No idea if current circumstances would allow for actually looking for a property though... good luck!

Yeah I have zero idea when we'd be able to actually travel to viewings as we'd be moving a half hours drive from here. I just want to get out of this place Sad.

A friend of mine moved house last week and it was a very long chain so there was many people moving that day and they all had removal firms booked that helped on the day. It all went smoothly.

In regards to looking at property I personally like to go and look at the property, at the moment I have seen online Viewings being done. Personally not for me but each to their own. Smile
