Getting a test on gov.uk site

My partner who's been travelling to work has come down with symptoms today. Have registered online and been told he can get a test, the nearest test centre says 72 slots over next 5 days but shows none when you click on the days.

Has anyone else successfully booked a test on there? Is there a good time to try - eg morning/night or is it just luck of the draw

I booked a test via the website and had no issues. I think it was around 10pm I registered and plenty of slots available for the following day. Did you receive your code via text/email?
