Tesco 80 items limit

Finally managed to get a Tesco delivery slot! Does anyone know whether they're still doing the 80 items limit and how it works? eg. If I buy 2 tins of beans that obviously counts as 2 items, but if I buy a 4-pack does it only count as 1?

Yes they are still doing it I have a shop coming today. There aren’t many multi packs anymore especially not beans but yes multi packs you can get count as one.

Yes they are and you’re correct about the beans. My Tesco doesn’t ever seem to have multipacks in stock though.

4 pack is 1 item, yep - so better off buying things that way eg carrots, apples as they’re all counted individually if not !

Ok, thanks ladies!

I think they stopped doing things like multipacks of baked beans because they were wrapped in plastic and, of course, up until recent weeks people were calling for a reduction in plastic use. I don't think it is a ploy by the supermarkets to make ordering more difficult. How times have changed. I used to buy loose fruit and veg but now buy everything I can in plastic bags so that the least number of people hve coughed or sneezed over it.

FYI Asda don't have an overall maximum amount, but do limit each item to 3. (3 multipacks, 3 individual bananas, 3 pre-packed bags of bananas)

Tesco are still restricting certain items as well. It was bags of carrots last week for some reason, only one per customer, not that I wanted more than one bag.

Yes they do still have a cap - I started a thread about this the other day

Someone on it suggested buying loose fruit and veg by weight not quantity then it counts as 1 item only but it doesn’t appear to work

And others have said, buying multi packs and large sizes is a way around the limit but the problem is they aren’t generally available

I’m finding the multi packs more expensive in some cases which makes no sense, sometimes it’s actually cheaper to buy it individually but I’m having to buy multi packs costing more money because of the 80 limit.
