Would you be planning on attending a wedding in August?

I imagine behind the scenes the bride and groom are trying to figure out a back up plan so I’d just assume that unless you’re told otherwise, it’s going ahead.

We have one at the end of August in France! I don’t think it will happen, but don’t need to pay anything off until July so just sitting tight until contacted by the couple.

But if it was going ahead, I’d attend. I’m not in the vulnerable category so would like to support.

My sister is getting married end August. They’ve been told the venue is working on 8 weeks ahead ie if same restrictions in place r or further info available 8 weeks before their day the decision will be then.

The venue asked them to pencil in a date for 2021 already.

She’s been told her dress won’t be coming and their honeymoon has already been cancelled by virgin.

But I’m not adding to her stress by pestering her.

Nope.

Even once lockdown ends, social distancing rules will still be in force to some extent or other. A wedding would count as a large gathering, fairly unlikely to be allowed I would imagine.

This IS the backup plan. I will feel sorry for them if they have to postpone again but August feels like it’s coming around really fast. We are keeping quiet and seeing what happens, but thought it would be interesting to gather opinions from others!
