Moving to Australia

Hey,

My DS (24) was wanting to move to Australia for a year in September to work in the mining industry - the same as what he does here. This is now looking v unlikely, however can anyone foresee what foreign travel may be looking like at this time?

At the moment I don’t think Australia is letting in any non citizens or PR but things will hopefully have changed by then - he might have to do a couple of weeks either in a hotel as quarantine or in one place that they can monitor if they haven’t lifted restrictions by then though but that’s not too bad in the context of a whole year.

I'd say this is a very unlikely prospect. Also unless he is very specialised/desired skill he would be in direct competition with hundreds of mine workers in job limbo/ unemplyment at the moment.
State border closures have made access to remote sites and FIFO roles complicated
