Hello, I have a five year old and a 21 month old. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas for games/activities to do in the garden?

Mine are the same age and love spending all day in the garden. They enjoy the following:

Chasing each other around
Hide and seek
Watering plants (or the lawn to make puddles for splashing)
"Painting" the fence/wall with water
Outdoor disco (put music on and ask them to dance)
Searching for bugs
Laying down and looking at the clouds
Making potions/mud pies
Pretend (or real) picnics
Helping me hang the washing out

Anything really. I don't set a structured game. They use their imaginations mainly. Even though we have a trampoline, wendy house, swing, they love nothing more than running around and being silly together.

Hope that helps.

Bucket of water, paint brush. Paint the fence, walls, pavement, each other!

Bucket of soapy water and a sponge, wash their outside toys.

Watering the plants
Bark rubbings. Rubbings of other things too. My 2 year old enjoyed taking them of the patio...
Checking on the growth of bulbs each morning.
Bubbles
Water play - bowl, jug, etc anything they can scoop with. Boat races.
Sand play
Taking diggers/cars out to the soil.
