Recently on local FB groups dog groomers and Car valets are advertising that they are open again and adhering to social distancing rules which is fine and as per government advice . However if we visit these places we are breaking the rules as we are only supposed to go out for essential trips which these are not. Also seen the same for home cleaners again they are allowed to do so but it makes no sense that someone can go between multiple households and maintain 2 m but we cannot mix with family inside even if we socially distance.

I feel it’s very contradictory?

I believe we have a soft lock down on purpose. In that, no massive peaks and shutdown but a more smoothed approach. Like in between Sweden and Spain style. It might work in the long run, it might not.

I agree a soft lockdown is potentially more effective I just thought these were very contradictory I’d rather be 2m apart from family than a clean house :-)

It is massively contradictory and people will start to get thoroughly pissed off.

You can now go to Greggs, B&Q, Asda, corner shop, takeaway and stand in a Amauri with a load of randoms two metres apart and handle cars machines etc.

However. I can’t go a sit 1”m from my mum in her garden and have a chat with her.

Yes , Very strange I agree with lockdown but not with these inconsistencies on the Car valet page loads if people commented they would book in and I’m thinking stay home so we can end this Thing. I also dont think a cleaner having been all over the place and then touching everything on your home

We are just starting to get on top of this and loads of business have decided to open when they had previously closed which means more people working/ on public transport etc and more people out and about going to these non essential businesses. The cases are just going to go right back up again and we will be back at square one where all of us who have been adhering to the guidelines go without seeing our families for even longer. It’s really annoying me now and people’s irresponsible decisions are annoying me. Can’t these businesses claim furlough anyway and so are claiming that and now working?

My dog will be prone to ear infections and matting soon if she's not groomed. That's animal welfare. Other dogs need claws clipping. I do see it as essential.
