I work with critically sick patients and I started with a raging temperature on Thursday.

So far I have had;

Sneezing (?)
Asthma type cough
Tiredness
Temps from 40-38.9
Chest and back pain
Vomiting

I don't feel great, but I got tested on Saturday and it's come back negative. Because of the negative test my manager wants me to go back to work tomorrow despite the temperature and feeling really grim.

I guess I'm asking if you'd go back to work like this? Obviously because I was last sick on Saturday night that gives me a bit more time as I'm not 48 hours clear until tomorrow night.

If youre not well, then you shouldnt be going to work, regardless of whether its COVID,

I totally agree with you! I rang the ward this morning with my results and my manager just said I expect you back in on Monday then Hmm I won't be going in. I just feel like I've been by a train

I hope you feel better soon. Its weird but its almost as if the only justifiable reason for being unwell enough to be off work is COVID, which is ridiculous because there are still other illness's around too.

You wouldn't normally go to work with these symptoms. Especially in your line of work.

Ring in the morning, say your temp hasn't come down and you are still vomiting and you won't be able to come into work for fear of passing it on.
