Work in a cafe.. When do you think we will realistically be able to reopen for some form of business?

Mid to end of May if you can demonstrate social distancing eg between tables and additional hand washing/sanitiser facilities

kirstinm · 26/04/2020 15:12

Do you mean for allowing customers to sit in to some extent? My guess is early June.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/04/2020 15:13

By 1st June.

Pseudosudocrem · 26/04/2020 15:14

How are we going to practice social distancing among the workforce? Seems pretty impossible in kitchen/dish room.

Not any time soon. October possibly if we get the infection down to a low enough level and adequate test trace and isolate public health systems up and running to detect new clusters.,

thejollygargler · 26/04/2020 15:17

14th October, but not before 11am or if it is raining.

Seriously, there are sooooooo many threads asking people to speculate on something that they cannot possibly know so what is the point?

Everyone is going to give you a different answer, so which answer will you pick?

What do you want the answer to be?

You have already said that social distancing is going to be a problem for the workforce so it would be reasonable to think that you can't open.

Is it a crime to ask? No. Its not. If you don't like the thread don't read or respond. Thank you.

I hope for June some time. I think we will all have to start seeing social distancing as something to do where possible. As soon as the schools go back we all know that they and we as a result will not be able to social distance all the time. I think it will be the same with work places - just a case of being sensible and taking what precautions re possible.

Elllicam · 26/04/2020 15:37

I think late May/early June

teenagetantrums · 26/04/2020 15:38

I think end of June. If you can't socially distance from other staff you may just have to get on with it. I work in a care home. Staff can't socially distance. We get on with it. To be honest loads of aces still open where employee s can't socially distance. As long as you can keep customers socially distanced thats the main thing.
