2020 Weddings

With social distancing expected in some form for the foreseeable (rest of year?), how do we think weddings will take place in 2020?

Very limited numbers? Bride, groom and witnesses only?

I'm August and honestly no idea. We haven't cancelled yet but we are anticipating a much small than planned wedding. Part of me just wants the government to tell us so that I can plan. A lot of brides have moved to 2021 but I can't see how it will be much better until we have a vaccine or treatment.

Same here, any guidance would be a help

I’m also an August bride. We only have 12 guests anyway but it’s still stressful organising a wedding that you don’t know is going to happen. Got everything crossed for us all.

I wouldn't be holding your breath for a vaccine.

No vaccine = legal minimum attendees? Or no marriages at all?

Our registry office has called, advising they will be taking bookings from mid may

What have they been told?!

Wouldn't confirm if they would be allowing over legal minimum attendees

That's reassuring OP. Hope it's the same everywhere.

I changed my May wedding to end of October, big Catholic church wedding and a ceilidh too so no idea how social distancing would work in that situation. Fingers crossed everything works out in the end!

We have a new date pencilled in with our venue but we aren't moving anything officially yet!

Mine is in the summer too. I'm in the shielding group so it is definitely going to be small even if it's not an official rule. Trouble is, I want DP to be my next of kin if anything happens, but she can't become that without me having to leave the house!
