Wales tougher measures

Just that really?

Why?

There are enough reading Mumsnet that can't handle it as it is. So why tougher measures?

Wales have the lowest CV figures in the U.K.
Why would you want to not increase measures to keep the majority of the population safe?

Have you read them? It's really not tougher measures. It's more an attempt to clarify things like travelling for exercise etc. It basically reads like a response to that police guidance that was published. It certainly won't make any changes to the way I and most people I know, are living their lives in lockdown.

lamplamplamo · 24/04/2020 23:16

Fair enough.

Still wondering why though? When people are moaning about the economy

Also worth noting that welsh government have also started talking about plans to come out of lockdown if hospital admissions continue to fall over the next couple of weeks.

I wonder if the fact that a lot of the population live in areas without much infrastructure makes a difference as well. ICU beds are few and far between in general and we have a desperate shortage of GPs and other health professionals, recruitment has been a nightmare in recent years.

Llareggub · 24/04/2020 23:25

I don’t think the measures are stricter, just more detailed.

I went shopping today and it was far busier than I’ve seen for ages. People are coming out of lockdown.

TabbyMumz · 25/04/2020 08:45

I couldnt see much difference in the regs to be honest. Headlines saying Wales is much stricter are a load of nonsense, just to trivialise it.

Kirschcherry · 25/04/2020 09:45

They are just trying to make it clear to the not so bright that we are not England and the recent advice from English police does not apply to Wales. Also, here in South Wales the healthcare system was on its knees before Covid 19 so although we have comparatively few cases our hospitals and GP’s are already struggling.
