So I'm NHS Frontline(ish). It took a few days to figure out who to speak to to get a test, and then to get it arranged. When it was arranged I had to drive 50 miles for the test.
Fair enough, I'm grateful I had it. I was positive and luckily my symptoms were mild. But, if I'd had it badly there is no way I could have gone to all the effort and emails trying to get it arranged, then drive 50 miles to have it! Most of my colleagues don't know how to get tested.
Why are we so far into this pandemic, and still the testing rate is so low, and tests are so hard to come by?
If we had tested widely in the first weeks of March, and contact traced, I doubt we'd be in the pickle we are now.
But even forgetting the mistakes of the early days, why have we still not got the testing sorted ??
