In the Czech republic they set up a website for people to make and trade homemade masks near each other, as some people may have the know how to do this more than others like art students... we could do that here surely...

Because there isn't universal confidence that this would be the right move. I dont particularly want a grimy rag that may have the virus on it from other people or my hand anywhere near my face so wont be wearing one.

Look at the behaviour of people wearing them, they seem to think the other rules dont apply to them.

I think part of the problem is that people may not know they have it and the idea is not to spread it to others, not to just protect yourself...

Haven't witnessed that. And I would view it as another simple measure we could take. And if we all got behind making homemade maybe it would create a sense of community.

You don't even need a sewing machine to make a simple one.

Am not sure what the reproductive rate of the virus is... but if everybody with a sewing machine or a bit of craft know-how got to it, perhaps we could soon beat this thing...
