Covid test - how long?

Hi,

Does anybody know how long it takes for a Covid test to come back in a hospital?

My Dad has been admitted this afternoon and has been tested and I wondered how long we would be waiting for the results?

I don’t want to phone the ward and ask lots of questions as they are probably very busy.

I'm not definitely sure about the hospital wards, but I'm being tested tomorrow (mild symptoms) as I'm a keyworker (physiotherapist) and have been told 48 hours.

I was told 4 days but it took a WEEK to come back

I'd chase (mine would've taken longer if I'd not chased and chased... But maybe I was just unlucky)

I'd imagine if you r in hospital it'll be quicker as they will need the result sooner...

I think it is variable my trust has a turn around of less than 24 hours. I hope that's the case for your dad.
