Texts from Ocado - Slots available

I keep on getting texts from Ocado, I am a longstanding regular customer, but not in need, advising that there are slots available tomorrow, please book. I am in Surrey, so not for a lack of customers, but I wonder why? Has everyone stopped using them because they were awful. I stopped because their website was unusable, and their stock levels shit.

I have been using Waitrose, and getting weekly slots as well.

bluebell, Waitrose have a different system compared with Ocado. The delivery comes from a local branch rather than a warehouse, so you can only order the items stocked at that particular branch. In our case, the branch in question is a fairly small one so there are some things I can’t get if I use their delivery service, compared with going in person to the other branch near us, which is a bigger store.

They have been sending us texts. We're shielding - DH & DS are asthmatic. If it wasn't for them we'd have nothing. They came through for us, & I'm really grateful to them. It took a long time but we've been able to book 2 slots so far and our cupboards are restocked. I'm happy again (for now).

Interesting mix of replies. I did actually book and try to get a shop together with Ocado, but 50% of the stuff I usually order was out of stock, so I cancelled the shop and managed to get a slot with Waitrose immediately. I presume I am getting some sort of priority as I have been a customer of both for 10's of years, and spend about £150 per shop, so on their radar.

Waitrose are therefore definitely delivery to "standard" customers, but I must say I had some really odd subs this week, and actually worst delivery since this all began, in terms of missing items and weird subs. Perhaps the supply chain is a little more tight than they are willing to admit to.
