I was just wondering whether there is anything I could usefully do to help others in the current situation while I’m on mat leave.

We’re rigorous about social distancing, check in with grandparents/older friends, support our local businesses where we can... but I still feel a bit useless overall, and like I could do more. But what? It doesn’t have to be Covid-19 related, but if anyone knows of ways I can help people from home do please post suggestions here. Thank you in advance, lovely MNers!

I wonder if you can do mum peer support things in any fb groups? I relied heavily on breastfeeding chat when I was a new mum and I know that the groups have been very silent. If you didn't bf there may be other parenting groups or just support groups?

Even just supporting mh posts on mn would be something.

That’s a great thought, thank you! I hadn’t realised the groups had gone quieter. Will have a look now.

Well the local lactation consultant said so a couple of weeks ago, it may be different now but many won't be accessing peer group support in the community.

I'm sure it's the same for ff mums in other ways.
