Anyone elses car insurance not letting them renew on monthly plans?

Car insurance is up for renewal and they have removed the option for monthly installments as have a lot of the others on comparison websites.

Now having to find £400+ from somewhere just so I can renew our car insurance or pay more in order to go with one of the few that are still offering monthly payments

We've just taken out a policy with RAC with installments. We went on comparethemarket.com first.

I was on comparison websites the other day looking at car insurance as well as direct line, they were all still quoting for monthly instalments.

I've just been on this morning and there are some that are offering monthly installments but they are the more expensive ones. The main ones aren't though (or weren't for me anyway!).

Self employed though so perhaps that's why.
