Is this a temperature enough to be concerned

This afternoon I suddenly felt quite flushed. My cheeks were red and warm.

I took my temperature and it was 37.1
Normally my temperature sits around 36.8

I’ve taken it again a few times since and it’s ranged from 36.3 to 37

I’ve looked online and it seems to vary as to what a normal temperature is and how much it can fluctuate.

What do you think? Is 37.1 the start of something?

I wouldn't worry, 37 is quite normal and it's a warm day today. See how you feel tonight. If a fever is on the way, you'll soon find out!

Don’t think you have anything to worry over. A fever is classed as 37.8 and above. Normal body temperature fluctuates throughout the day.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 20/04/2020 19:25

If it's higher than 37.8 you need to self isolate.

Normal temperature is 36-37.

I should probably add that other than my husband and daughter, I haven’t had contact with anyone for 4 weeks now.
Husband on furlough and we’ve been having our shopping delivered.
Although hubby did take our daughter for her vaccinations last week.

@BlackLambAndGreyFalcon yes I’d seen normal was up fo 37 so I was slightly concerned that 37.1 wasn’t normal!

37.1 is within the normal range. It starts to be considered as high at 37.8.

Inconnu · 20/04/2020 19:51

37.1 is normal

RoryGilmoree · 20/04/2020 19:52

37.1 is not a fever!

polly0809 · 20/04/2020 19:56

Thanks. I think my concern was usually my temperature sits around 36.8 so Is 37.1 high for me and a concern?
I haven’t consistently monitored to check for fluctuations in my temperature. I only checked today as I felt flushed.

I'm a nurse, 37.1 isn't a pyrexia / high temp.Take care.

Haggisfish · 20/04/2020 19:59

Op I hear you. My normal temp is the low side of average, like yours. I know what you mean-if someone else has an average body temp of 37.5 and theirs raised by 0.3 sefeees they would trigger Coronavirus isolation. However, your and I temp increases by same amount and it’s nowhere near isolation. I would go by how you feel in yourself.

TiddleTaddleTat · 20/04/2020 20:03

Keep an eye on it.
I think I had CV - 3+ weeks of cough, fatigue, chest pain, aches and pains, and a temperature that went up and down. The temp never reached 'fever' but I felt hot and uncomfortable.

slipperywhensparticus · 20/04/2020 20:06

My daughter runs low temp she would vomit when she hit 37.1 doctors and nurses would wail its NOT a HIGH temperature eventually we all worked out it was high for her
