Childcare settings reopening

I keep reading about schools reopening and everyone has an opinion (I would prefer to keep the dc away from school for now), but no one is commenting about childcare settings.
all childcare was closed at the same time. Childminders and nurseries were included in the ‘education’ shut down. It would be impossible to socially distance toddlers, and really tricky to distance pre schoolers.
No one is commenting about childcare settings, but I wonder what people think about these settings reopening. Same as schools or a bit longer off due to the difficulty in keeping dc apart and the amount of germ spreading, sneezes, coughing, mouthing of toys that goes on.
I think parents of under 5s have probably generally had it worse through all this, little ones need supervising ALL the time, need entertaining through the day and it’s rare you can put the tv on for half an hour for a bit of peace. I imagine it’s near impossible for parents to have worked from home and been highly productive through that time. I get that parents need Childcare to be open for parents to go back to work, I just wondered what others thoughts are about settings reopening.

For the record, I’m a childminder, so could really do with reopening to be earning again, but I wouldn’t want anyone to be at risk just so I’m earning money again.

The one where I work is open to key work children. I am off to May, so no intention to open up to more children at present.

I think it would be similar to nursery and special schools. Maybe not full numbers and deep cleans after each session🙄

I think potentially earlier than schools - I wouldn't be surprised to see childcare allowed to operate over summer holidays

I don't think childminders can be compared to other ey settings.
We work in our homes, not a seperate building we can't close at the end of a session to deep clean. My own family have a right to have their home safe and free from other people coming in and potentially spreading the virus. I don't have a separate playroom or kitchen etc. I'm very limited in what I could do to minimise the risk.
I will reopen when in believe it's safe for my family.

I'm a childminder too. I'm closed to my normal mindees as none have key worker parents. Many nurseries near me have shut even to key workers - I've taken on a baby of a key worker. There is no way you can socially distance yourself from a pre-school child - it's just the risk that you take bringing them into your home. I think childminders and nurseries will reopen at same time as schools.

I'm Scotland BTW so earlier summer holidays here and so much less chance of schools opening before summer break
