I don’t understand how the government can do this in the face of such circumstances. How on earth can a housing minister respond to the crucial issues which will inevitably arise? Journalists want answers, we want solutions. Is it simply down to it being a weekend that the daily briefing will comprise of two representatives rather than the normal three? It just all feels inadequate, insensitive and ineffective.
