For the last 5 days I’ve been ill through the night with a bunged up nose alternating with a runny nose and a sore throat.
Then a Head ache through the day (but perhaps through lack of sleep)

So obviously assumed it was just a cold.
But now for the last 18 hours I’ve had a cough. It’s quite constant. It’s dry and tickly.

If you have had it, does that sound like it could be it?

If I have it am I supposed to let someone know? Am I supposed to go and get tested somewhere?

What’s next?!

Just a reminder of the variation in how it presents. It varies so much from person to person. I had no fever/headaches or major fatigue, only the dry cough straight onto the lungs & the periods of breathlessness. Fatigue was so non existent I even went out for a bike ride after 7 days. That was too much too soon however as ended up with periods of dizziness afterwards. Still have the cough, started producing a small amount of mucus after 16 days (dead lung cells killed by the virus apparently - mmm nice)

It’s not unexpected the cough & occasional slight wheeze is lingering though - I’m on day 19 now - a typical bout of acute bronchitis that sometimes follows a cold lasts about 4 weeks with me.

Temperature
Cough (severe)
Feeling like I had flu
Fighting to breathe (couldn’t sleep as I was either coughing or trying to keep my lungs working
Conjunctivitis
Headache (I have never had a headache)
Loss of sense of smell and taste

Even 6 weeks after it had finished I was struggling to walk from the car into the supermarket

I lost a stone in weight and Ds lost 1.5 stone.

I also started off feeling like I had caught a cold/sore throat then after a couple of days I recovered. I never recover from a cold of any sort.
It always lingers for at least 10 days

Then it hit me and I couldn’t get out of bed

This was the end of December/beginning of January
I am sure we all had it and looking back at work diaries we have a good idea where it came from

Some one we know who has tested positive for Covid 19. Currently not in this country. Was surprised when the test results came back as positive.
The only symptom was they lost there sense of smell a few days before for a couple of days otherwise they felt fit and well

Can I ask what people think for me and my children? I know it’s a bit osmo-doc but it’s all we really have!

13 year old had cold, sore throat, headache, cough 10 days or so before lockdown. 16 year old had same cough and has since said his chest was tight. Both still coughing on and off (mainly off). We have been in strict isolation because of risk factors in my youngest child so I have not been out the house since 6 days prior to lockdown other than to post a letter (did not come within 2 metres of anyone). I have suffered for the last 8 days with a sense of a cold coming in the evenings in particular and a mild but persistent cough. Cold hasn’t arrived. Mild headache but persistent. Yesterday went through a few hours where normal activities were making me breathless - emptying dishwasher, for example. Some mild dizziness during the 7 days. Feel OK now but mornings generally better.

Just lockdown fatigue or something else? Not usually a hay fever sufferer but have spent time in the garden. Not particularly tired. Curious as to whether we have had it!

DH had something like a cold (very runny nose and sneezing) which progressed to a cough, breathing difficulties, fatigue and muscle aches. 111 doc was adamant it couldn't be CV because he didn't have a temp. But his GP is pretty sure it was CV - because what else could it have been?

My sister is also unwell rn with sinus pain and fatigue, muscle aches, but no cough and no temp but a tightness in her chest. Again, 111 doc doesn't think it's CV but her GP is pretty sure it is. Without a test it's a guessing game
