If schools go back, crowded buses safe?

If lockdown ends in three weeks and schools close will it be safe for our kids to get on crowded buses. The bus my Dd gets is entirely her school and packed. Even if the frequency is increased it’s packed - oversubscribed inner city school. I’m getting Anxious thinking about it.

lol, no.

Especially without measures like masking on public transport (helps YOU not infect others), and social distancing - one person to every two seats etc.

I really don’t think Schools will open in three weeks. I can’t go into sources of info but plans are to aim to reopen schools in September. This is not definitive yet...but it’s the ‘talk’.

That doesn’t mean that schools will be closed until September though...they will have a gradual phased opening, which I believe most people expect anyway.

So for instance, they might initially only allow certain pupils back...perhaps broaden the group of key workers or open to SEN pupils.

Following this they might start to allow another year group or key group of learners back.

I can’t imagine this phased return beginning until June and it will then take place over 7 weeks. I would love though to have all the children back for a few weeks to enjoy some festivities prior to the summer holiday, but I think we’ll have to see.

Additionally it is likely to be parent’s choice as to whether these children attend school before September...if they are part of the group invited in. If parents opt to keep children home, they shouldn’t be penalised.

Therefore I don’t think you have anything imminent to worry about.

No. They won’t be safe. Nor will they be safe packed into overcrowded classrooms/schools either. Neither will the teachers and other staff
