Delivery driver - I’ve been tested’

So my grocery delivery driver tells me he’s been tested so he’s ok. Hmm

Turns out, apparently their temperature is tested every morning
This can’t be procedure surely? The delivery staff thinking they’re ok because they didn’t have a temp.

Why would he lie about them having their temperature tested?
I can believe that some companies would do this.

Although of course, a lack of temperature doesn’t necessarily equal a lack of Covid19, as not everyone with it gets a temperature. So there’s a real danger that the delivery staff have a false sense of security about their health.

Dh gets his temperature tested arriving for work daily

perniciousdot · 16/04/2020 11:50

Lots of companies are testing temperature.

Why would he lie? He is saying he has been temperature tested, not full in CV tested. Not foolproof but helpful all the same.

I think it's better they are trying to do something.

A great example of Mumsnet though.

Well, there are dumb folk in every profession though, to be fair to him, as a grocery delivery driver he's probably working 48 hours per day and doesn't have much time to do his own reading/research on the matter.
😉

No- I’m not saying he’s lying, not at all. But the fact he’s had his temp taken makes him think he’s ok, never mind all the deliveries he’s now taking into houses because he thinks he hasn’t got it.
He should still be following distancing rules, surely?

The Hmm face was because I thought he’d been officially tested for Coronavirus

I am a carer for people in their own homes. We have been issued thermometers and asked to test daily and report high temperature and isolate if required. This is just an extra precaution. It doesn't mean we definitely aren't infected or that we disregard distancing and other infection control measures. He of course should be following distancing rules. Raise it with the company as I guess he isn't alone in thinking this.

I’ve found delivery drivers to be inconsistent.

For every grocery delivery that knocks on the door standing well back, another one stands within the two metres

Parcel deliveries from couriers, ditto.

Only company I’ve found to be on the ball consistently has been Royal Mail

Grocery delivery drivers have been making me lift the bags out of the boxes for weeks now.
