Wildly fluctuating thermometer help!!

The thermometer I used on my daughter first said 37.8 then 37.2 then 37.1 within seconds/minutes of each other. Earlier 37.6 then straight after 37.1. Digital ear thermometer. Quite new.

I'm really worried. Which one is right?? Or how best to get it to give an accurate reading??

How old is your daughter? I think eat thermometers can be a bit unreliable as they have to be placed correctly in the ear - I really struggled with this with my daughter although she is still a baby. I was told the most accurate way to take her temp is under her arm with a digital thermometer

Were you changing between ears as each ear will give u a different reading
