The politics and censorship of Covid 19

I have just been banned on a facebook group for referring to Covid19 on a post about getting help doing a sewing job

I originally posted about my Covid Stay-cation and how difficult it was continue working and not going shopping they deleted it and asked me not to use the covid word - so I reposted saying I was doing it while at stuck at home and unable to shop and they banned me

It's no loss to me but it brought up the idea that covid might be censored by some people and if so why?

Has anyone else come across it? Or is it just a facebook blip

I imagine it is because some groups on fb want a covid free area to escape to occasionally. I don't think it is being censored so much as EVERYTHING is about covid at the moment and people need an outlet that relates to other things sometimes!

Oh I agree

They might want to post it in their rules or announcements tho'

But really it is about the wider question - how will this be seen in history? Will it be censored?
