Question about FFP3 mask please help!

Hello, I was given an FFP3 mask by a friend of mine, she ordered a few and kindly gave me one. My DP wore it about 10 days ago to the supermarket and again 3 days later to go to a shop over the road for something we’d forgotten.

He needs to go again today as we’re running out of stuff, my question is can he reuse the mask again? I’ve looked online and there’s so much variation depending on the mask. I have no idea what company it’s from or the individual details of it. My friend’s busy with her 4 children so don’t want to bother her.

I read something about being able to sterilise them but I don’t want to damage the filter! Or should we just wipe it over? I also have some single use surgical masks I bought weeks ago so would he be safer using one of them?

Thanks in advance!

It hasn't been used for a week? I'd use it and I'm a nurse. Just wash hands before And after putting it on and taking it off and don't touch the front.

Google is your friend emag.medicalexpo.com/which-masks-actually-protect-against-coronavirus/

Surgical mask is pointless. Respirator depends on manufacturer but has a short life. Can't see how either is going to help you really. All this kit should be saved for keyworkers.

Though I should add, I don't wear a mask to go shopping! But I have no problem with other people doing to if they feel safer.

This. He doesn't need to wear a mask to go shopping.

Oh sorry I feel bad now about him even using one. I read something weeks ago about how it’s beneficial if people wear them as it collectively helps to prevent droplets being spread. And that it also can help with inhaling them too.

I’m so sorry for the people who need them and don’t have them, I feel awful about it Sad I got the surgical ones off eBay back in early Feb when I’d read that in China they were compulsory. I then read about how then can work on a mass level and saved them for if we needed them.

Thank you @Gammeldragz that helps a lot, and to everyone else I apologise if I’ve been insensitive or come across as selfish.
