Could I catch Covid on a walk/bike ride if social distancing?

Friends laughing at me in a group chat when I confessed I've not done any of the above as I'm concerned that if someone coughs/sneezes outside then the wind could pick it up and - in theory - blow into my face....?! I'm very confused about the conflicting views of face covering.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about on a walk/bike ride, but do what you feel comfortable with and ignore your friends.

I went for a walk today for my exercise. Was passing an open window when I heard a horrendous, chokey sounding cough coming from within. I obviously hurried on but it did put an end to my enjoyment of the walk. I've hardly left the house since lockdown but wasn't particularly worried about catching it while exercising - until today.
