I’ve look on amazon, eBay, Boots, Superdrug and Argos and they’re all sold out 😩.
Anyone know of anywhere please?

Try looking at baby care sets, the type with nail clippers in. Some of them have thermometers in them.

DietChic · 12/04/2020 19:06

Ovulation thermometers can be used as normal thermometers!

hellojim · 12/04/2020 19:17

In baby toiletries aisle in supermarket or small chemist

Floralista · 12/04/2020 19:20

Natural Cycles fertility tracker sells them for about £10 I think

bobstersmum · 12/04/2020 20:21

Seem to be loads on amazon?

nellodee · 12/04/2020 20:25

I've bought about 5 or 6 over the last few years, always paying really close attention to the reviews and trying to buy a good one. I've never had one that gives a consistent reading and have always ended up just seeing whether my children look hot and clammy. They're always 35.3 in one ear and 38.4 in the other. I hate the bloody things.

nellodee · 12/04/2020 20:25

I hate the thermometers, not my children, to clarify.

whataboutbob · 12/04/2020 20:26

I got one in an independent pharmacy. It’s not great, I have to put in my mouth for one minute and I’m not sure how accurate it is . When I tried it under my arm ( as per instructions) it told me my temperature was 33 degrees.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 13/04/2020 15:05

Thank you. I’m a bit dubious about the accuracy of the cheaper/ovulation type thermometers.

Anyone had one that’s fairly accurate/consistent?

Ocado have them if doing an order anyway.

Spied · 13/04/2020 15:09

Don't give up on Boots.
I went to pick up my prescription yesterday and they'd just put out some Braun ones on the otherwise empty shelf so they are obviously still getting them in now and again.
It was £49 though!

Spied · 13/04/2020 15:10

Website did say they were out of stock but obviously not correct and some stores getting them. ( Smallish town)

Saoirse7 · 13/04/2020 15:15

How much were infrared forehead thermometers before all of this? They're around £50 on Amazon. Have a baby on the way and need to get one but like OP said, sold out everywhere 😓. Don't want to pay over the odds now if they are likely to go down before baby comes.

blossombabies · 13/04/2020 15:16

theres loads on ebay?

Spied · 13/04/2020 15:17

I can't see them coming down in price ever now tbh.

Ginfilledcats · 13/04/2020 15:23

Please don't buy baby the thermometers unless you have a baby, I've been trying to get one for weeks for my impending new born (5 weeks) and struggling

HairyFloppins · 13/04/2020 15:27

Selected Asda stores had some in today. Tomee tippee £37.99.

Looneytune253 · 13/04/2020 15:29

@Ginfilledcats I think people that need them now are more in need than a baby that's not been born yet. Plus if your baby is well you won't need one so urgently anyway. Quite pfb if you ask me!! Jeez.

Hulahoopqueen · 13/04/2020 15:29

I got a meat thermometer for Christmas (£4 ASDA) to do the turkey and just pop it under an armpit if I’m concerned about a fever 🤷🏼‍♀️ Gets a good clean in between obviously!

Lougle · 13/04/2020 15:37

So you don't have a baby yet, but you're telling other people not to buy unless they have a baby.

If your newborn is hot enough that you want to take their temperature, they'll need medical attention anyway, tbh.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 15/04/2020 21:05

Thank you. I hadn’t thought of Asda so will keep checking there too. None in my local Superdrug or Boots today (small town).
