Does high fever lead to worse symptoms?

I've heard from those with +ve test who have had mild symptoms 'but achey, loss of smell, slight cough'
Has anyone experienced high fevers and extreme fatigue in first few days and not gone on to experience more severe / prolonged cough and breathlessness?

A high temperature is one of the symptoms. The virus causes them all, they dont cause each other

My temp at its highest was 38.4, I spent a few days in bed exhausted, I’ve recovered other than the temp and I’m almost two weeks in.

High temperature is your immune response to the virus. Could mean body working very hard against high viral load, could mean IS over-reacting. I don’t think it’s an indicator.

Dd (3 years old)and I both had a fever and fatigue for 2 days, nearly 3 weeks ago. We were fine again after the two days and continued to be for all of the other days in between!

None of us have been tested but DBro and DS1 both had high fevers and exhaustion then got better in a few days, I only had a low fever (37.4 at its highest) but it dragged on for a week and I was breathless for a few days.

Maybe their bodies were more efficient at fighting the virus with their higher temperatures?

I had high fever (although I've had worse with flu, glandular fever and tonsillitis in the past) for around 8 days, slight cough for the first three days which then just disappeared, and complete loss of sense of smell from day 4. I'm now on day 20 and am more or less better, but I still don't feel quite right. So I had a fever, but for me it was never terrible and I certainly have had no breathing problems.

My dad - bed bound for 3 days with high fever, night sweats, etc. But it never developed into pneumonia and he was almost back to normal in about a week.

DS 3 had a fever of 39.1. He was delirious - hallucinating in the night. He was very fatigued and had a bad cough. Recovered in about 5 days. Of course he wasn't tested but I suspect it was CV. I went on to have a viral illness 7 days later - dry cough, shivers, achey, headache, sore throat but no fever. I recovered in 7ish days. I was up and about so would only consider them to be mild symptoms and again cannot be sure it was CV.

I had - day 1 - mild headache - sense of smell was a bit strange, thought
food was off when it wasnt, muscle ache
day 2 - mild headache and chills - muscle ache
day 3 - 9 - headache, extremely fatigued and temp of 38.6,
muscle ache
day 10 - temp came down to normal levels
day 11 - sore throat and cough start
day 13 - back to normal

no confirmation that i had CV - 111 advised me to assume that i had.

I recommend you watch today's video from Dr John Campbell - on YouTube. It explains the various evidence that a high temperature is your body's response to fighting off the infection, and it can do this more efficiently at a higher temperature. Therefore it is best not to artificially reduce your temperature by taking paracetamol.

In fact most of his videos are interesting - especially how to nurse a patient with Covid19 - basic good advice.

I had a fever of 39 for 2 days that would suddenly come on and then go down again- really odd. I then had chest tightness but no cough as such. Ended up ringing 111 due to having other health conditions and wasn’t sure how to manage those all together with the virus. Wasn’t tested but they said I probably had it. Never got much worse than that but did feel rotten for nearly two weeks, flu ish etc.

Interesting, I generally let temps ride out with other illnesses and have done the same with this.
I don't have a thermometer but experienced what I presume has been spiking high temps last 2 nights. Not sweating but burning skin (especially legs strangely) and weird feeling of surges of heat running through and around body.
Seems to be worse overnight with profound fatigue and feeling very unwell during the morning but then almost human again in the afternoon and evening. Haven't been out of bed in 3 days as am self isolating in bedroom. This afternoon is the first time I would have ventured downstairs given the option. Think I need to be 3 days temp free to escape isolation.

My fatigue and breathlessness was returning in the evening. I’d sometimes feel ok all day.
