Does anyone know the legalities of my 'job security'?

I manage a retail shop of a massive retail branch. The shop has been in deficit since day 1 (I haven't been manager since day 1 but nothing makes a difference for so many different reasons). I don't think it's turned a profit one month. We've been promised job security and have been furloughed with full pay which is great but the fact that this branch is in a deficit normally anyway and now has no money coming in, is it possible I'll be made redundant? Is it legal? TIA.

Anyone can be made redundant provided that the redundancy process is handled fairly. There is no such thing as job security in any sector (even at the best of times) and especially not retail.

If you know that your chain and your branch are performing poorly then I'd expect either redundancies or insolvency in the near future.
