Supermarket Priority Online Delivery

Hello,

My in laws are 80 plus.

We are doing all their shopping for them. They have several serious health issues.

They are quite independent and are worried that if we get poorly they will be stranded. They have filled in the Government form. Apparently there is a tick box on this form saying do you have someone who can shop for you. They are obv, rightly, prioritising who needs help first.

Two q:

  1. is anyone on any supermarkets priority list yet? Have you been contacted by a supermarket?
  1. People that are getting delivery slots what are you doing to get one? And from which supermarket.

Thanks x

  1. I think they're only contacting peopl who are already customers of theirs.
  1. Logging on at strange times in the middle of the night, logging on often.

If they are stranded, they should fill in the form again, this time saying they don't have anyone to chop for them. Also, there should be a Council number they can ring for help, including volunteers to shop for them. In our area the local Councillors are heavily involved.

A lot of local shops are now delivering. A question on Facebook will find out who, otherwise get them to ring up all their local shops

Finally, Morrisons are doing a £35 food box, either "meet" or "vegetarian", which is delivered. It's a separate operation form the on-line deliveries so may be easier to get a slot.

I have heard from Asda and Sainsbury’s and have a recurring slot with Asda. I hope you find a slot for them.

I’m not sure if this is only in certain areas but Morrisons do a food delivery service via and I came across an app called Beelivery who also do food shops of essentials although I think it’s from local shops so a bit more pricey than supermarkets
